Since you are considering buying a horse from us, we want you to know something about us. Though our breeding ranch is small, our knowledge-base is not.

Mary comes from a horse background that started as a young child. She was riding at the tender age of 5. Mary was showing hunters and jumpers by the time she was 12 and was the 1972 National Pleasure Champion at the prestigious Santa Barbara National Horse Show. She has won and placed at many shows, including Del Mar and Cota Da Caza and rode under and learned from Leslie Oertly, known Champion Hunter/Jumper rider in Southern California and went on to ride under Kathy Hobstetter, also from Southern California. Later in life, Mary decided to learn to barrel race. This has become her passion and she has done pretty well with it. Was the 1997 Drysdales 3-D Champion, 1996 NBHA 3-D district Champion, has qualified twice for the NBHA World Show and has won at D&G shows, etc.

Mary's love for horses shows in what she breeds and raises. Her husband Bob, though a firefighter, is much a part of the horse operations. He works great with handling the babies and the horses. Without him, Mary could not do what she loves to do. Bob is a very valuable partner in the Lee Ranch breeding program.  

At Lee Ranch, our goal is to breed the best quality barrel prospect for you, the public. We take much pride in the raising and handling of our colts and fillies. We want our horses to be easy to handle and eager and willing to learn for you. Our breeding program consists of crossing Driftwood mares with great running-bred stallions. We are finding that this program is producing some very well-minded and talented prospects. We love the results of mixing the alert mind and quick athletic ability of a great cow horse and the speed of a great running horse.
